Prof. Ting Tan
Sun Yat-sen University
Dr. Tan is current a professor at School of Civil Engineering in Sun Yat-Sen University. He obtained the bachelor and master’s degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He then received PhD from Princeton University in 2011. Between 2011 and 2012, he served as a postdoctoral research associate in Oak Ridge National Laboratory. From 2012 to 2021, he serves as assistant professor and tenured associate professor at University of Vermont. His research focuses on Civil Infrastructural Materials, Experimental Mechanics, Art-structure Conservation. His group has generated over 50 publications, with more than 30 SCI items. Dr. Tan has been PIs and Co-PIs from over 10 research projects. The work from his group has won different awards, including the Top 100 Materials Science award from Scientific Reports in 2017. Graduates from his group has served as faculty members in North America and Asia, as well as research members in National Laboratories.
